Miss Cassidy

Teacher & Choreographer

Miss Cassidy began dancing at the age of six in Saskatoon Saskatchewan. She trained and competed in many genres of dance. She completed Junior 1-Intermediate 2 ADAPT tap and jazz exams, as well as Grade 1-Advanced 1 RAD ballet exams. 

 

She began teaching at the age of 17 and hasn’t paused since. From there she went on to complete the ADAPT Teachers Training Course in tap and jazz. Adding to her repertoire, she completed module one and two with Alixa Flexibility. She has also completed module one in Acrobatic Arts.

 

In the summer of 2015, Miss Cassidy attended the 5 week summer intensive at the ‘Goh Ballet Academy’ in Vancouver BC. There she was able to train under various instructors, and expand her knowledge in ballet, Contemporary and Musical Theatre. In 2017, Cassidy attended the “Dance Teachers University” conference in Las Vegas and received the Level 1 Certification. She has also taught in Hong Kong, helping prepare dancers for their ADAPT exams. 

 

Outside of dance you can find Miss Cassidy out walking her dog Roxie, at the craft store, or choreographing in her kitchen. She is very creative with some yarn and a crochet hook, making everything from blankets to stuffed animals. She loves nature but also loves staying in and watching Disney movies. She can’t wait to share her love of dance with the students at Embody!

Miss Emily

Teacher & Choreographer

Emily started dancing when she was 3 years old in Valleyview, AB. She moved to Red Deer in 2005 and started dancing competitively at Dance Traxx, and later Joy's School of Dance in Innisfail, where she trained in tap, ballet, jazz, lyrical and musical theatre. She danced at various competitions and local events in Alberta, British Columbia and Anaheim, California, and has also had the opportunity to perform onstage and take dance workshops in Disneyland and dance in the parade in Walt Disney World.
She successfully completed multiple RAD ballet and ADAPT tap and jazz exams before moving to Calgary in 2015 to start dancing at Crossings Dance where she successfully completed her ISTD Intermediate exams in tap, ballet and modern.


In 2019 she joined and danced with the Tri-Tone Rhythm Ensemble under Tasha Lawson, where she had the opportunity to take classes with tap artists such as Dianne Walker, Dianne Montgomery and Acia Gray. The following year she took part in Tasha’s teacher training program.


Emily took part in a dance teacher education and mentoring program as a teenager and has been teaching dance classes for the past 2.5 years. She loves sharing her passion and knowledge of dance with her students and is excited to keep learning while doing what she loves.

Miss Janine

Teacher & Choreographer

Growing up in Calgary, Janine began dance at the age of three. She started attending Crossings Dance at the age of four where she trained in ballet, modern, jazz, and contemporary for thirteen years. She completed her Advanced 1 ballet RAD exam as well as multiple ISTD ballet and modern exams. She also took part in Crossings' T.E.A.M. program, studying under many different teachers over the course of eight years. In addition to dance, for the past seven years she has been doing weight and strength training to help prevent injuries and improve movement patterns.

 

She attended Ballet Magnificat's Summer Dance Intensive, participated in Project Dance New York and Calgary, and performed with Jeunesse Classique Ballet Society in Sleeping Beauty. She also participated in CYDC (Crossings Youth Dance Company) for three years and studied at Störling Dance Theater in Kansas in their Artistic Development Program (renamed Störling Conservatory). When Janine isn't dancing, you can find her at the gym, playing guitar, hiking, or spending time with friends.

Miss Eden

Teacher & Choreographer

Eden began dancing at the age of 2 in Red Deer, AB. Her training includes ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, musical theatre, acro and pointe. She danced competitively at Dance Traxx, and later Joy’s School of Dance in Innisfail, where she successfully completed multiple RAD ballet and ADAPT jazz and tap exams.

 

She began dancing at Crossings Dance after moving to Calgary in 2015, where she trained in ballet, pointe, modern, jazz and tap and successfully completed her ISTD Intermediate exams in ballet and tap, and her Intermediate Foundations exam in modern. While at Crossings, Eden trained in a teacher training mentorship program as a student teacher and danced in Crossings Youth Dance Company.

 

Eden has had the opportunity to perform in many competitions and events across Alberta and one in California, as well as taking part in Disney Performing Arts classes and performances at Disneyland and Disney World. In 2019, she danced with the Jeunesse Classique Ballet Society in their productions of Sleeping Beauty and The Nutcracker in corps and in first & second soloist roles.

 

Eden has been excited to be teaching at Heart to Sole in Okotoks for the past year. She continues to prepare for the Advanced 1 ISTD Ballet exam and looks forward to performing in Jeunesse’s Nutcracker again this year.

Miss Aurora

Teacher & Choreographer

Aurora danced at Soul To Sole for 14years. from an early age, she loved training in all styles of dance, and eventually became a competitive dancer. 

 

Over the years, Aurora has had the opportunity to compete and perform locally and internationally. In 2019, she competed on the Canadian National Tap Team at the International Dance Organization World Tap Championships in Riesa, Germany. For National Tap Day, Aurora and her sister were selected by a local tap master to perform their tap duet. She was honored to receive the Jaimie Hill and Tammy-Lynn Powers Memorial Scholarship and perform a tap solo on the Memorial Stage at the National Music Centre. Aurora also won a scholarship to attend the Broadway Dance Centre in New York City, where she trained in various dance styles and had the experience of a lifetime. She has received multiple Wild Rose Dance Arts Association winter scholarships, has attended the Rhythm Body and Soul Festival and won numerous awards at the Triple Threat Dance Convention and the View Dance Challenge. 

 

Aurora is currently taking a Biological Science degree at the University of Calgary, with hopes of becoming a military doctor.
