We strive to foster expression, inclusion, and the joy of movement, while providing a high standard of quality dance education.
A message from the owners:
We at Embody Dance Centre understand that going to a dance studio means so much more than just learning dance steps; it is a safe space to explore new ways of expressing oneself, a place to make lifelong friendships, and an opportunity to gain independence and confidence, as well as teamwork skills.
All three of us have grown up dancing and teaching, and are excited to share that passion with our students. Erin has a wealth of knowledge in dance education and over nine years experience running our sister studio in Okotoks. Mackenzie is an experienced and certified teacher and choreographer who is involved in the larger dance community and constantly learning and sharing new ideas with her students. Alyssa is a teacher and choreographer, and brings an extra layer to team with her master’s degree specializing in dancer’s mental and physical well-being. - Erin, Alyssa & Mackenzie

At EDC, we are committed to providing a space that is more than a just a studio; it’s a family.
We see and celebrate our dancers as whole, complex, and unique people. From the bright-eyed and creative beginner, to the passionate expression or technical precision of an advanced student, Embody Dance Centre holds space for each student’s journey.

Embody Kindness
ECD is a place where every student, no matter their age, skill level, or number of classes taken, receives the same level of care and attention. Each dancer has a special place with us and makes this studio what it is. Our team is committed to creating a welcoming and positive environment for our students to learn and feel their best.
Embody Technique
Quality training is of the upmost importance. We hire teachers with passion, teaching experience, and certifications in their field. As owners, we are constantly upgrading our own knowledge and certifications, and supporting our teachers in doing the same.
Embody FUN!
We believe that dance should be fun! We strive to make learning fun, challenging, and rewarding for all.
Embody Artistry
We believe that fostering creativity and self-expression can support our students throughout their lives, whether or not they continue dance into adulthood. We celebrate diversity and the unique spark each student carries. We encourage self-expression, celebrate all our students achievements, and underline our teaching with an appreciation and love for dance in all its forms.
Embody Connection
We are building relationships with local neighbourhood businesses, as well as larger dance entities (Dance Safe Alberta, dance festivals and competitions, etc.) to support our community and dancers alike.
Our Space
Our two large studios are equipped with professional sprung Marley flooring which helps reduce fatigue, and provide support and protection for growing bodies. Our studios also have large mirrored walls, ballet barres, and lots of natural light.
